[Fashionistas] Meet "The Jess Dream"

jess.jpg

Name: Jessica Goins

Occupation Or Aspiration: Waitress

Zodiac Sign: Scorpio

Favorite Clothing store: Bebe. This brand is sexy, fun, vibrant, and sophisticated, like myself.

Favorite Designer: Marc Jacobs

Favorite Shoe: Booties; perfect for the Fall. My favorite weather and season for fashion. I like that I can add these to my comfy, or sexy style. They're so versatile!

Fashion Trend You Loved (can be past or present): My style changes rapidly... From stiletto heels, to knee high boots or even combat boots. However, a timeless look for me (and one of my favorites) happens to be the laid back sports cap (like a rugby or baseball cap) that I will be bold enough to wear dressed up, or casually with denims. You'll see every fashionista in this attire whether it's an actress, model, movie star, or normal girl. It's the 'I'm running errands look' but assured that even still, I'm all about fashion. For me, there has always been a tom boyish girl inside of me, and this laid back outfit soothes her. The paparazzi is known for catching an infinite number of celebrities dressed like this.

BIG Fashion DON'T: Dressing for a body type that isn't yours. A huge part of being a fashionista is knowing your body type and what looks good on you. Fashion evolves so you're bound to make some fashion DONTS... But as far as STYLE goes... You're unique style is YOU.. So know your own body type and remember that what looks good on someone else, may not always look good on you!

Make-up Item You Can't Live Without: My signature color lips! My life will forever be changed since that first day I walked into MAC and purchased my first REBEL lipstick. It's a dark purple-ish, almost plum color. Since that day it has been my top favorite make-up pick. REBEL and DIVA, which is a beautiful dark voluminous red.

Favorite Accessory You Own: My Marc Jacobs gift box pendant necklace which was a special gift to me, and is also tattooed on the left side of my chest.

Celebrity's Style You Admire: Generally, I would hold off on publicizing names because of free advertisement lol but I'll definitely give credit where credit is due. Rihanna, Mary Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen, and Beyonce all slay! Fashion killaz!

Who Is A Fashion Icon, In Your Eyes: Rihanna... Years from now people will tell their grand children about fashion trends they wore that was inspired by her. Whether it be outfits, hairstyles, shoes, etc... Because we're living in the now, people may overlook the immense impact she's made in the fashion world, but she has mad a tremendous mark! Hence why she was named 2014 fashion leader of the year at the CFDA awards.

Also while I give credit to Rih, I can't forget about the fellas. I have always admired Pharell and his unique tasteful fashion sense. As a fashionista, how can you not adore him?

Store Thats Gives You The Best For Less: There was a small store named VINTAGE that was in Soho, NY. They would have A M A Z I N G vintage merchandise. It was like an upscale thrift shop. But not really thrifty. The price range would vary from inexpensive, to affordable, to a jaw- dropping OMG! It wasn't as overwhelming as stepping in a Good Will or Century21, because it was small and upscale... but you had to be consistent in shopping there because you'd miss out on great finds if not. I bought items that I have not and will never see anyone else have from there. I received several gifts from that store and was told that there may be only one or two more in the world that was made!!... Dear, VINTAGE? Did you relocate? Where did you go?!

What Makes Your Style Original?: My style is original because if I see a trend done already, I'm not doing it. Well, I follow trends but in my own twisted way. I won't wear trends the way you see most people wearing it. I'm the type of person you see walking down the street and you'll probably say "I like what she's wearing but I wouldn't wear it like that." OR people always tell me "you look nice but I would've never thought to wear that together." And that's the point. That's my style. I hate looking like anyone else. If I'm skeptical that someone else will have an item that I'm wearing on, I'm reassured that they won't be wearing it like me because my style is random. I piece together sexy revealing dresses and add laid back boots and a baseball cap on to put a tomboy-ish look to it. When I'm shopping for accessories (which are one of my weaknesses) I look for pieces that are the most unique, that seem to be interesting conversation starters, and that I'm sure almost no one or absolutely no one else will have. I like to do the unexpected.
