A New Chapter for KarrahBooo: My Thoughts on NOT DA 2

After two years of public drama, industry conversations and questions about what her next move would look like, KarrahBooo is finally getting the opportunity to let the music speak for itself. With the release of her new project, NOT DA 2, the Atlanta rapper is stepping into a new chapter, and honestly, I think she deserves more credit than she gets. The project features appearances from Monaleo, Lil Yachty, K3 and Zukenee, giving listeners another look at Karrah Boo's sound and the style that separates her from some of her peers.

My Favorite Tracks

My favorite tracks on the project have to be the intro and “WYO” featuring Monaleo. There's something about a good intro that sets the tone for a project, and this one stood out to me. “WYO” is another personal favorite. It honestly wasn't something I was expecting but I think Monaleo was a great addition to the track.

KarrahBooo and Lil Yachty Back on Good Terms? WE Love to See It.

Another moment worth mentioning is hearing KarrahBoooo and Lil Yachty together again on “PATCHED IT UP.” After their very public fallout and all the social media fiascos, it was refreshing to see them seemingly back on good terms. When disagreements play out online, it's easy for the drama to become bigger than the actual people involved. Seeing them reconnect musically was a nice change of pace, and I'm glad to see them moving forward.

I Think KarrahBoooo Is Underrated

I've always thought KarrahBoooo was underrated and I wonder if part of that comes down to her flow. I've seen people describe her delivery as boring but I personally think it's unique.

Everybody doesn't have to rap the same way. I appreciate artists who have their own sound instead of trying to follow whatever style is popular at the moment. KarrahBoooo has a laid back delivery that might not appeal to everybody but it's recognizable and I think that's part of what makes her stand out. I don't need every rapper to come with the same energy or approach every beat the same way. Sometimes, the difference is what makes an artist interesting. I think Karrah Boo has room to continue growing and experimenting with her sound but I also think there's something to appreciate about what she already brings to the table.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I enjoyed listening to NOT DA 2. I'm interested to see what's next for KarrahBoooo. I think she has a sound of her own, and I'd like to see more people give her music a chance instead of overlooking her because her delivery is different.
